Christianity came out of Judaism in the First Century BC and it is based on the life, teachings, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The majority of the followers in the beginning were former Jews. Non-Jews were called Gentiles.
Christianity was founded in 33 AD by Jesus Christ in Judea. Judea is present day Israel. Many religion branches have come out of the belief of believing in Jesus, Protestants, Eastern Orthodox, and Roman Catholics. Believers of Christ are called Christians. Then from this branches are sub-branches. Even though, there form of worshiping Jesus is different, they have the same core belief that "God will come and judge the living and the dead." Jesus was born in Bethlehem to Mary and Joseph. He was convinced by the power of the Holy Spirit on the day of the Immaculate Conception. Jesus preached and told the people of many towns that worshiping false gods and judging one another was not correct. Jesus told repeatedly in his sermons that “we must treat others as we want to be treated.” In the beginning Christianity was illegal. Christianity did not become legal until Constantine made it the official of the Roman Empire in 313 CE, by the Edict of Milan. Citations:
