Women in the ancient aztec CIVILIZATION
An Aztec women was not ordained. Therefore, was not a priest. In, order for her to be appealing to a man she had to be clean and simple. She would not wear make-up because that was considered only for the prostitutes. But, they would wear bright colored clothing with shinny jewelry. Some of the form of jewelry the noble women would only wear. Aztec women would wear there hair long and straight and only women priest would wear there hair short to prove there chastity.
For an Aztec women to get married there was a serious of steps to be followed. The first step is that the man would ask the council if they may marry. Next the Aztec elder women would imitate a courtship between the two and tell the her father. Aztec men could only marry one women and from his caste system. They had an elaborate wedding. Only noble men could marry more than one wife. That is because a women had to be treated with respect and given a decent life. If the man failed to do so, her family could take her back. At home she would cook and clean. She would tend to the children and also create the clothing that they would wear. When Aztec women had children they were elevated into a position of a goddess. That is how respected and valuably childbirth was. If the mother of the child wanted the child to be a priest, then the mother would take the child to the temple and make an arrangement with the priest.
