BELIEFS
Original Sin
Christians believe that Adam and Eve were the first humans to be created by God. They are two creation stories found in the Bible in the Book of Genesis. Adam and Eve were prohibited to eat from the “Tree of Knowledge” but because of the temptation caused by the serpent they disrobed God. For disobeying God, as humans we now have to endure pain and death instead of living in eternal paradise like God intended for us. Jesus Christ Jesus Christ, is God’s son, sent to save humanity from eternal death. He preached about God coming again to judge the living and the dead. Jesus was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirt to the Virgin Mary and born in barn. He died on the cross to save us from eternal death and resurrected on Easter Sunday. The Trinity The Holy Trinity is one God made up of three persons, the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. This belief separates Christians from other groups like Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormonism. Heaven and Hell In Christianity, there is a Heaven for all those who have obeyed the basic laws of the Bible and a Hell for those who do evil things. Hell came to be after Lucifer, one of God’s angels, was jealous that he did not receive as much praise as Jesus Christ. Therefore, God sent him to the bottom of the earth where he rules. The Devil is our greatness source of temptation. God Is omniscient and powerful. There is only one God that should be worshiped. The Bible The Bible was written by people through the power of the Holy Spirit that guided them. Therefore, the Bible is the word of God and it is infallible.
